December 19, 2025 – St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands
St. Thomas Federal Credit Union (STTFCU) proudly celebrated a historic milestone on December 12, 2025, with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Branch and Operations Center at 100-1C Estate Taarneberg, St. Thomas Virgin Islands. The event, themed “United in Growth, Boundless in Vision,” marked the beginning of a transformative chapter for the Credit Union and the Virgin Islands community.
The ceremony brought together distinguished guests, community leaders, members, and partners to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance member services and support economic growth. The new headquarters will span over 10,000 square feet, featuring modern amenities such as:
- Drive-thru and walk-up windows for convenient transactions
- Expanded parking and improved interior flow to reduce congestion
- Dedicated space for operational units and member engagement
- Advanced technology integration for faster, smarter financial solutions
“This day is more than the turning of soil; it is the turning of a page in our story,” said Lisa-Marie Hodge, Administrative Support Officer, during her opening remarks. “We are creating a beacon of opportunity, innovation, and hope for generations to come.”
Keisha L. Richards, Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the significance of this expansion:
“This facility is not just bricks and mortar. It is a testament to transformation. It will create jobs, broaden services, and elevate the member experience. Our commitment is clear: prosperity must flow outward, through technology, partnerships, and service that uplifts the Virgin Islands.”
The new headquarters represents years of planning and perseverance, following STTFCU’s purchase of the Taarneberg property in 2011. Construction is projected to span 24 months, with completion anticipated in 2028. The facility will meet the highest federal regulatory standards and position STTFCU as a stronger, more agile financial partner for the future.
Board President Clifford Graham reflected on the journey:
“The greatest buildings are not just made of stone and steel, but of dreams, vision, and determination. Today, we celebrate those qualities as we build a future worthy of our members and community.”
STTFCU extends heartfelt gratitude to its members, Board of Directors, management team, employees and partners, including architect Edmond Blaize of Caribbean Professional Consultants Inc., the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, and the 36th Legislature, for their unwavering support in bringing this vision to life.
